Engineering Intern

Full-time onsite summer internship at our Port Washington, WI facility. 

Schedule: M-F, 7:30AM - 4:00PM. 

 

Looking for a hands‑on engineering internship where your work actually makes an impact? Join our engineering team this summer and gain real‑world experience supporting industry‑leading products from our Con Forms and Ultra Tech brands.

As an Engineering Intern, you won’t just observe—you’ll contribute. You’ll help create and update detailed engineering drawings, support new part requests, and assist with bill of materials and engineering change notices. You’ll also take part in meaningful projects focused on improving how our engineering team works, including exploring how AI can be used to boost efficiency and innovation.

You’ll primarily collaborate with our engineering team, while also gaining exposure to planning, operations, and sales, giving you a well‑rounded view of how products move from concept to customer. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your technical skills, strengthen your communication, and learn the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in a professional engineering environment.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Work directly with engineering to produce cad models and drawings.
  • Work with engineering and other departments to support the engineering change notice process.
  • Ability to use the ERP system (Syteline) to identify parts, materials, and part usage.
  • Fulfill administrative duties for the engineering department.
  • Assist engineering in modifying and revising designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems. 
  • Utilize AI to improve efficiency in engineering processes.
  • Assist with data entry and analysis regarding technical specifications of products. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recent degree or current enrollment in a college level engineering program.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Ability to accurately produce and change 2D and 3D models and drawings in a computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Products, specifically Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to learn new computer software. 
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

  • This is a primarily sedentary position involving long periods of sitting and working on a computer in a climate-controlled environment.  Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear. Use hands to write and operate a computer or printer.
  • This position will have occasional exposure to the production shop floor resulting in exposure to loud noises, sparks, fumes, chemicals and heavy equipment.
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions, units of measurement, and metric conversions.
  • Reasoning skills including ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions of job requests. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical drawings and instructions.
  • Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to gather and input quote and order information on a computer. Basic knowledge of computer systems.
  • Reading and comprehension.
