Student Coordinator for Residential Student Engagement

Position Description
Leadership Development
§ Assist with the development and implementation of a hall leader training program, including but not limited to new leader orientation and on-going enrichment workshops
§ In partnership with the Program Advisor for Student Leadership & Involvement – Inclusion Programs, engage residence hall leaders in diversity, equity, and inclusion training and initiatives
§ Implement initiatives to recognize contributions of hall leaders, including the coordination of a hall leader social each semester
§ Connect residents to leadership programs sponsored through Reeve Union, Student Recreation & Wellness, and other campus departments and organizations
 
Event Planning
§ Assist with the planning and execution of a Residence Life sponsored activity for the Homecoming Titan Tailgate event
§ Assist with the planning and execution of Kram the Kolf, an event in collaboration with the Athletic Department
 
Recruitment and Marketing
§ Assist with marketing hall leadership programs [Hall Councils, United Students in Residence Halls, National Residence Hall Honorary, student employment]
§ Develop a gallery of photographs, highlighting floor, hall, and department-wide student involvement. Coordinate photograph collection from hall staff and leaders


Position Requirements
§ Candidate must be a University of Wisconsin Oshkosh student
§ Candidate must be in good disciplinary standing [not on disciplinary probation]
§ Candidate must have and maintain a minimum cumulative and semester grade point average of 2.5 or above
§ Candidate must have well-developed interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and administrative skills
§ Candidate must be self-motivated and willing to take initiative
§ Preference may be given to candidates with experience coordinating activities or implementing events
§ Preference may be given to candidates with residence hall leadership experience
 
Hours
§ Candidate must be available to work 10 hours per week
§ Candidate must be available to work some office hours between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., but also available to participate in some evening and weekend programs
