STEP - Voice Auditions Accompanist

The Department of Music is seeking an accomplished pianist to accompany prospective voice students on their audition day. Our scheduled audition days this academic year include:
Wednesday, November 17, 2022
Wednesday, February 15, 2023
Friday, February 24, 2023
Friday, April 7, 2023

Hired student will be given the music to prepare at least 2 weeks in advance of the audition; anything later will be at the accompanist's discretion. The payment is $20 per student accompanied. This is a request-only position, so only incoming students who request our accompanist in advance of the audition will use the service.

-Accomplished collaborative student pianist with strong sight-reading skills
-Familiarity with piano-vocal accompaniments from all periods
-Public performing experience
-Strong communicative and presentation skills
-Availability for entrance & scholarship auditions, when scheduled in fall/spring semesters

-Learn and practice prospective student's vocal selections prior to their audition
-Rehearse with prospective students prior to their audition
-Accompany prospective student's vocal audition
