WORK STUDY - Career Resource Specialist

Career Resource Specialist (CRS) are the Career & Professional Development's (CPD) front line customer service provider. Students in this role greet visitors to our office, answer our phones to respond to questions and to assist in scheduling appointments. CRS students engage in helping us brand CPD events, services, and the Career Closet. Students have the opportunity to learn professional skills and engage with employers, faculty and staff in addition to students.
Students have the option to become "resume certified" if they choose to do so - which will lead to opportunities to help with our "drop-in" resume hours.

YOU MUST HAVE WORK STUDY
Qualifications 
  • Computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, and internet searching 
  • Customer service experience 
  • Strong oral communication 
  • Presentation experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Be approachable and able to build a positive rapport with customers

In addition to employment, students working in Career & Professional Development experience a variety of personal and professional development opportunities. Students learn valuable, transferable skills while gaining skills to help others with career needs. Students also learn to use career-related software, review resumes and network with professionals in the office and from organizations recruiting on campus.
