Student Assistant - Student Involvement Desk Attendent


Hours to be determined. Desk is open M-Th 10 am to 8 pm, Fri 10-5 and Sun 5-8.

Student Involvement Desk Attendants provide effective communications, services, and customer service to Student Leadership & Involvement Center customers and guests.
1. Pleasant and approachable personality and ability to serve customers
2. Answer phone calls and provide accurate information
3. Ability to complete detailed and routine tasks
4. Excellent communication and customer service skills
5. Previous administrative experience preferred
6. Ability to work independently with limited supervision
7. Preferred to be involved in a student organization at minimum must be familiar with various student organizations on campus
1.  Greet students, faculty and staff and welcome them to the center
2.  Answer questions and provide tours of the center
3.  Refer people to the appropriate staff
4.  Be familiar with the process for becoming a recognized student organization
5.  Serve as resource of information about student organizations
6.  Answer phone calls and email messages
7.  Operate computer system data base of students involved in organizations
8.  Help students utilize the resource area
9.  Sort incoming and outgoing mail and packages
10. Update displays and bulletin boards regularly
11. Support Student Leadership & Involvement Staff with projects
12.  Facilitate key check out for student organization spaces
13. Coordinate services offered through the SLIC including machine rental, ticket sales, event sign ups, after hour access, display case reservations, etc.
14. Routine office work (filing, typing, etc.)
