Gruenhagen Conference Center Front Desk Receptionist

Gruenhagen Conference Center and Gruenhagen Hall is looking for a dynamic and outgoing team player to fill the position of Front Desk Receptionist. Priority will be given to applications submitted by Saturday, Sept 30, 2023.
Gruenhagen Conference Center and Gruenhagen Hall (one building) serves both Residence Life Students (during the academic school year) and Conference Guests (continuously throughout the year.)
The Front Desk is open daily from 7 am to 11 pm. The Front Desk Receptionist (DR) will interact with and be a resource on a daily basis for Conference Guests, Domestic and International students. 
It is a highly sought after position due to the diverse interactions with campus guests from both stateside and around the world. Much of the time can also be spent answering questions, assisting guests with plans and making lodging reservations. This is a position that will teach you about human relations, customer service, communications, and process management. This is a year round position. 





Developed and mature interpersonal skills,
Effective telephone etiquette and skill set,
Effective email correspondence abilities,
Computer skills to use Excel, Portal, GCC Reservation software, and gmail,
Public Relations skill set and focus,
Diplomacy,
Moderate Clerical skills,
Cashiering experience,
Emergency Response,
Basic Math skills,
Required 2.5 GPA 
Must be willing to work days, nights and weekends between the hours of 7 am to 11 pm with a varied, but set, schedule.



Working 10-20 hours during the school year and more in the summer, the Desk Receptionist (DR) will be stationed at the front desk of Gruenhagen Conference Center and will combine several skills to complete the job duties successfully. 
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Being the welcoming first contact to all guests entering the building,
Providing excellent customer service,
Processing lodging information,
Serving as an information resource for the campus and community as well as for conference guests,
Processing US Mail and Campus mail daily,
Receiving ongoing phone calls,
Processing emails through out the day,
Reporting daily on updates to Front Desk activities/functions,
Participating in other assignments as directed by the Desk Manager, Director of GCC, and other Staff.
