Student Assistant - Office Assistant University Dining Administrative Offices

Job Summary:
  University Dining Office Assistants interact directly with parents and students, assisting them with meal plans, student billings, and other meal plan related information.  They also perform multiple program checks daily to be sure Campus Dining standards are being met. Hours for this position are between 8:00am - 4:30pm.





A. Requirements

  • Enrolled with a minimum of 6 credits
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Availability based on position (may include evening hours)
  • Effective communication skills and customer service mindset
  • Support an inclusive environment
  • Knowledge of Reeve Union policies and procedures
  • Successfully pass a background check










B. Responsibilities 

Customer Service 
  •  Act as an information reference both on the telephone and for customers at service desk
  • Answer phone calls and provide accurate information
  • Assist students and parents answering questions about dining programs, menus, dietary information etc.
  • Be approachable and professional with all customers
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages
  • Work with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds

Data Management 
  •  Access PeopleSoft, CBord, and StarRez software containing sensitive or secure information
  • Assist with auditing of contracted services including menu, venue, vending, catering, and web
  • Develop and maintain thorough records, databases, binders, and files
  • Document processes o Issue, change, and maintain meals in associated software
  • Maintain accuracy in detailed processes
  • Maintain confidentiality in working with and making changes to sensitive information
  • Maintain student record changes in StarRez 

Effective Communication 
  • Communicate technical information clearly and accurately
  • Effectively communicate interpersonally, orally, and written
  • Provide information about upcoming events and services
  • Speak in public 

Financial Management  
  • Post, change, and audit student meal plan charges in PeopleSoft

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Complete detailed and routine tasks
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Have basic computer skills such as Google applications and Microsoft Office
  • Have excellent organizational skills
  • Have the ability to work without direct supervision
  • Learn new tasks quickly and accurately
  • Work both independently and as part of  a team
  • Little or no experience required
