End Date: June 30, 2025 (unless graduating). May be renewable upon successful performance evaluation, continued enrollment in a graduate program at UW Oshkosh and continued position funding.

Compensation: 

  • Base salary is $15,140 for 12 months. Position is 20 hours per week during the academic year, 30 hours per week during June and July and 40 hours per week in August.
  • Tuition up to 9 credits per semester (paid as a financial aid disbursement each semester)
  • Financial Support offered for professional development
  • Eligible for health insurance through UW System

About the Position: 

The Assistant Coordinator of Residential Experience and Community Development (ACRE) reports to the Manager of Residential Experience and Community Development and assists in community development, leadership development and operational duties in the Department of Residence Life.

Primary Duties: 

Community Development

  1. Management of the SEED Center, a community development resource room for hall staff and Residence Life Student Leaders
  2. Coordinate the purchase and distribution of program supplies for programming executed by hall staff, hall councils and United Students in Residence Halls
  3. Serve on the departmental Community Development Team. 
  4. Assist with the creation of new or enhancement of existing specialty housing programs (Cultural Connections, Rainbow Floor, Academically Focused Living Environment, Fraternity/Sorority Life Floor, etc.)

Leadership Development

  1. Serve on the departmental leadership team, focused on hall council/involvement team leader development
  2. Assist with the advising of United Students in Residence Halls (USRH) as needed

Administration

  1. Participate in orientation, training, professional development sessions, weekly staff meetings and 1:1 meetings as required. 
  2. Analyze and use data to improve the student experience in each hall and support their academic success
  3. Assist in hall and department policy formulation and review. 
  4. Assist in the execution of large-scale departmental events (Opening/Closing, Hall Staff Selection, Preview Days, Titan Take Off, EAA, etc.) 

The ACRE position involves night and weekend commitments. Additionally, this position requires work on Labor Day weekend due to hall opening events. 

Requirements: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree earned by start date
  2. Acceptance to a UW Oshkosh graduate program (any offer of employment is contingent upon acceptance to a grad program at UWO)
  3. Demonstrated commitment to creating a sense of belonging for students and staff.
  4. Previous leadership experience in a college/university setting or significant transferable leadership experience
  5. Commitment to the growth and development of students

Preferences: 

  1. Previous leadership experience in a residence hall setting
