Graduate Assistant for Student Organization Experiences

Programming & Curriculum Development (45%) 

Develop, coordinate, and implement a robust menu of student organization training and leadership programs. May include a combination of the following: 

Involvement Fairs (Fall & Spring): Student organization fairs designed to introduce students to various options for joining a student organization. 

Student Organization renewal registration including Student Organization Conference Night which is required for all student organizations to register. 

Newsletter: Create and publish a bi-weekly student organization officer and advisor newsletter. 

Support initiatives to connect every UWM student to involvement opportunities during their time in college through implementation of campus-wide programs such as UWM Fall Welcome. 

Organization Training and Development (20%) 

Develop, coordinate, and implement student organization leadership development workshops, programs, and initiatives. May include a combination of the following: 

COMPASS: Assist with various leadership development opportunities for Student Organizations. 

Student Excellence Awards: Co-manage the celebration of student organizations, leadership, and employment. 

Marketing & Communication (15%) 

Develop resources, including marketing and publications, videos and online materials, web content and social media communication. 

Administration, Assessment, Research & Learning (10%) 

Administration: Manage administrative tasks related to the position, including scheduling programs, evaluation, and assessment of programs, tracking program participation, processing student organization requests, and maintaining organized records. 

Assessment, Research, & Learning: 

Improve initiatives and programs through engaging in assessment and evaluation. 

Participate in on-going professional development regarding leadership topics, trends, & best practices. 

Off-campus leadership opportunities: including regional and national conferences.  

General Support (10%)  

Stakeholder Engagement: Invest in campus partnerships by maintaining relationships with colleagues across the division and in academic affairs.  

Support Student Involvement events and initiatives and other duties as assigned.
