Dean of Students Office Assistant
Position Summary: The Dean of Student office is looking for an undergraduate student to work at the front desk. This position provides and assists administrative program support for students, faculty and staff.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Able to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. (Hours are subject to change)
Good communication and written skills
Great customer services and phone etiquette
Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
High integrity, team player and student service focus
Ability to multi-task effectively, detail oriented and problem solve
Ability to positively maneuver a changing work environment
Attend training throughout the semester, J-term and S-term
Highly prefer students who have Work Study but not required
Other preferred qualities: positive attitude; polite; professional and courteous; strong interpersonal skills; ability to stay focused; self-motivated; good problem-solving skills; enjoy working with others; independent; respect for our diverse student population; and willing to provide immediate information/support for students as an academic and campus resource
Student workers must be able to assist with the following:
Maintain confidentiality
Front desk customer service duties by greeting students, staff, faculty and guests
Answering questions and concerns by email, in person and phone
Schedule appointments and maintain office calendars
Triage and provide information regarding services, procedures, and guidelines at UWO
Provide, direct and refer appropriates resources to specific department/office
Create and maintain data files in Excel and OneDrive
Process various forms to ensure completeness and accuracy
Perform and assist with miscellaneous office duties
Check incoming fax, opening and closing office
Assisting the Accessibility Center with projects
Assist students with applying for Accommodations
