Art Gallery Attendant and Exhibition Assistant - Work Study Position

We are hiring for the Fall 2024 semester.

-We have open spots in our schedule we are looking to fill.
-Assist and monitor gallery visitors and help to provide a positive experience as well as provide protections for the exhibitions.
-Between the exhibitions, you will assist the gallery director with installing and striking the exhibitions. Will gain experience in gallery installation techniques and exhibition design. Will gain experience with working with tools, painting, and display techniques. 
-We are looking for reliable students with good attention to detail. 
-Greet the public and provide security in art galleries.
-Observe visitors in the gallery in order to protect the artwork.
-Keep a count of the visitors to the gallery.
-Be knowledgeable about exhibitions, dates of exhibitions, gallery hours and special events in order to answer any questions from the public. 
-Help maintain the appearance of the gallery, which includes inspecting the art objects, labels, and lights.
-Assist in any opening/closing procedures for exhibitions.
-Problem solving, working as a team. May require some evening hours.
