Athletic Multimedia Intern (STEP)
The Multimedia Intern will work directly with the Multimedia Facilities Coordinator on game days and in the office setting to coordinate video production and in-game content for videoboard as well as assisting with departmental video shoots and editing. Camera operation on game days will be required. On non-gamedays, this person will work with the Multimedia Facilities Coordinator on video creation for social media, editing and cataloging. This is a position that will require a dedicated individual willing to put forth a large amount of time and effort. You will report to Athletic department Multimedia Coordinator. That position will be interviewing the prospective candidates. All applications received for this position will be sent for review.
Multimedia Expectations
- Collect photo and video content of athletic events
- Edit video content in a timely manner
- Assist in fan experience duties as needed (transporting promotional materials, rolling t-shirts)
- Attend required number of games for your specific sport, you are only allowed to miss one gameday (cannot be Community night, senior night or Vamos Titans Night)
- Assist with takedown and setup as needed.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and some January dates.
- January and late May/early June availability is a plus.
- Opportunities to learn and operate graphic design software are also available.
- Other Duties as assigned.
All internship candidates applying for a position in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Athletic Department must meet the following requirements:
• Must be available to work on evenings and weekends, as well as during normal business hours.
• Students participating in the STEP program are required to complete their paid hours within the office or at athletic events, unless authorized by Athletic Director.
• Outgoing personality with the ability to make large-group presentations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (writing, phone etiquette, conversational, etc) as well as strong attention to detail.
• Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite as well as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere is preferred. Previous camera operation and video production knowledge also preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting to meet multiple project goals.
• Must be able take initiative, see tasks through to completion, and problem solve.
• Ability to work with sensitive information without discussing outside of the team.
• Willing to work extra hours as needed.
