Work Study - Music Hall Event Crew

The Music Department is looking for students to join our Music Hall Event Crew, with employment starting in September! Three different positions are being hired for within the crew. 

Usher: Includes greeting the general public, collecting admission and issuing tickets if sold, distributing programs or QR codes, admitting latecomers at the earliest appropriate time, clearing music hall of any trash after the event, and helping the stagehand after the concert if necessary.

Stagehand: Set up stage and make changes in Music Hall for department concerts/recitals. Duties include moving chairs, stands, pianos, and other instruments, holding the stage door for performers, and other related duties as requested. Open all doors prior to performances and lock after all performers and guests have left the Hall area.

Audio Crew: The ideal candidate for the Audio Crew position includes someone that is part of the Music Industry major or minor program that would like to expand their skill set in live sound, recording, mixing, video production, and streaming.

There may be a crew meeting twice per semester for training and scheduling purposes, led by the crew manager.

All hires will be trained on stagehand and usher duties. The hours vary, but include nights and weekends during our scheduled departmental concerts and recitals. Applicants should have the following qualities:

-Punctual

-Positive attitude

-Ability to follow instructions

-Work with little supervision

-Music background a PLUS, but not necessary

In addition to the above, students must understand that they are representing the university in their duties and should act accordingly.
