Certified Nursing Assistant (Work Study)
Certified Nursing Assistants work in the Student Health Center on the UW Oshkosh campus. Applicants must have a current CNA license, CPR certification, and a minimum of one-year of relevant work experience.
Because of the demands of working in a medical clinic, it is recommended that this be the only daytime position held by the applicant.
Applicant must be able to work a minimum of eight hours (two or more hours per shift) weekly during the 14-week semester.
Work schedules will not accommodate other jobs or volunteer duties that take place during Student Health Center hours of operation.
Requirements:
- Wisconsin CNA certification with a minimum of one year's working experience as such.
- Current CPR Certification
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle conflict with diplomacy
- Must be able to abide by HIPAA standards of strict confidentiality
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Ineligible if also a CA, CSO, or PWE
- May not work concurrently with any other campus job
- Must be able to work a minimum of eight hours in blocks of two or more hours per shift from the times above.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients, take vital signs, document vitals in Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and provide patient instruction as requested.
- Update the EMR with test results, vital signs, allergies, and medications.
- Stock exam rooms, clean exam rooms, and assist providers as needed.
- Assist staff with outreach events such as influenza clinics, LGBTQ health awareness week, etc., as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
