Fall 2025 Semester while A-T publishes (~12 total weeks), 6 hours per week 

Pay: $10/hour

 

Description:

The Advance-Titan (“A-T”) is an independent student-run newspaper (digital and print) published on the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh campus since 1894. The news content is written and edited by students at the university, and they are solely responsible for content and editorial policy.  Any student at UW Oshkosh is welcome to work on the staff. The Advance-Titan provides students with opportunities to learn marketable media skills as well as create portfolio-quality work that will assist students in obtaining jobs and internships. 

 

The A-T is seeking a Web Editor for the Fall 2025 semester.  This position will be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of the organization’s website (www.advancetitan.com), including assisting A-T staff with preparing and publishing content for the web.

Additional duties will include:

  • Publishing news and editorial content on the Advance-Titan website 
  • Format multimedia content and art for web publishing
  • Communicate with section editors for web needs
  • Overall maintenance and management of publication web page
  • Make necessary/desired web changes
  • Frequently check email and respond to questions and requests as necessary
  • Attend weekly editorial meetings to learn more about the various aspects of the upcoming edition to promote them properly in advance of publication.

Experience/Skills preferred: WordPress, basic HTML coding, web design, web publishing

 

As Web Editor, the position holder will gain professional skills (and portfolio samples) that demonstrate professional abilities, including but not limited to:

  • Building web-based tools to help augment content posted by other editors
